Ever wanted to do your hair ala a Greek goddess?
Well, now is that day.
Learn how to easily do it.
The Greek goddess braided hairstyle is a sophisticated, elegant look that works as well with a casual shirt and blue jeans as it does with a ball gown. Use this style with any hair type, whether you have thin, straight hair or thick, curly locks. Choose the look when you want to do something more than just brush your hair and walk out the door. It takes only about 10 minutes to complete.
Separate a section, about 3 inches wide, from the back of each of the two sections, and keep them together toward the back of your head for later use. You should now have three separate sections of hair, two on each side of your head and one in the back.
French-braid the left section of hair by first separating a small 1-inch section of hair near the front. Divide the section into three equal pieces and then form the first knot of a normal braid by carrying the right piece over the center piece and then the left piece over the new center piece.
Continue to braid down the left side of your head, adding a new small section of hair onto each piece before you cross it over the center piece. After a few repetitions, you should notice a french braid pattern forming a half-crown along the side of your head. Add enough hair each time so that the section separated on the left side is incorporated by the time you reach the base of your head. Once you reach the base of your head, finish the remaining unbraided hair with a conventional braid. Wrap a hair band around the bottom to secure the braid.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 on the right side of your head.
Braid the ends of the two french braids together with the unbraided section of hair left in the back of your head. Remove the two hair bands holding the two smaller braids and secure the bottom of the larger braid with a hair band.
Pin down any bubbly pieces of hair or fly-aways to complete the look.
